Artist Bio

My name is Ally Shurter. I am a musician, meaning my primary focus is in the realm of auditory art through the medium of performance. I showcase my talent about once a month at various venues around Boulder and Denver, Colorado. My art tends to have a darker theme. I like to find beauty and patterns within things that appear to be more haunting. I have very little experience with visual art. I oftentimes find difficulty in bringing my vision to life through this medium. I strive for structure and organization, and visual art feels like a very abstract concept to me. In the future, I hope to be able to incorporate my musical skills with my new knowledge of digital art. My passion is music, so I would love to create some designs that fit with my branding as a musician. No artist could better achieve the vision that I have than myself. My philosophy with any form of art is to "wing it". During the creative process, I always come up with new ideas that enhance the original idea. When all is said and done, the product is much different than I originally planned, but it displays where my mind went while I was creating the piece. My love and appreciation for any form of art, visual or auditory, began before I can remember. With musical parents and an extended family full of artists, in addition to fine arts school from kindergarten through fifth grade, it's in my nature to appreciate the beauty and find meaning in everything.
