I initially had some pretty cool ideas for this project. I have an extensive background in Ableton and EDM. I was going to use that knowledge combined with my plugins to process the samples heavily and create some kind of alien communication track. It was just going to be weird and wonky. Due to it being in Audition, I am not sure how well I will be able to execute that. One idea that I may be able to do is urban soundscapes to dystopian future. It would start sounding like the normal hustle and bustle of the city. It would then maybe sound futuristic? I'm not sure how I would make that happen but I can definitely try. By the end it would sound run down, maybe sounds of war in the background. This could be communicating how if we continue to use up our resources this may be the result. Another idea is nightmares and dreams/soundscapes. In the beginning it would sound very eerie. Maybe some footsteps, slamming doors, etc. Over the course of the song it will build and get heavier until it crashes and becomes very dreamlike. All of a sudden a very melodic tone will develop and it will be very pleasant to listen to. The last idea I have is a sonic collage. I would compile a very diverse range of samples to create a collage that reflects the beauty and the chaos of modern existence. I'm not sure which I will pick.
